The counseling involving sexual struggles encompasses sexual abuse, sexual identity, sexual disorders, sexual addictions and aversions. Dual diagnosis, involving depression, anxiety, dissociative disorders and chemical dependency are areas of experienced treatment. In addition to his private practice, CARE Counseling, Mike has worked on the outpatient and inpatient units of Elkhart General Hospital and has been on staff at several churches.
- ♦ Master’s in Counseling
- ♦ License Social Worker
- ♦ Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
- ♦ Ordained Christian Minister
Mike has built a successful counseling practice through assisting clients identify and address the core issues and “root” causes, rather than treating the surface symptoms. In the process of directing focus upon the deeper personal issues, it is essential that therapy also addresses improving family/ interpersonal relationships, growing in spiritual connection with Christ and making healthy life choices.
In addition to Mike’s professional training and experience, he and his wife, Bevan have experienced God’s transformation and restoration in their personal lives, marriage and family. In the beginning of their 29 years of marriage, God has provided spiritual, professional and personal help in empowering them to experience and express His genuine love. They have been blessed with three daughters, Karissa, Kira, Kallay and son-n-law Jeremy.
Since 1982, Mike has ministered with churches in the development of support/recovery groups and mentoring ministries. He is passionate about churches realizing the “Great Commission” in making disciples. Through providing leadership training, establishing vision and seeking God’s direction, he has assisted in empowering church communities to help Christians “to observe or obey” all things that are essential to dynamic spiritual growth.
*Mike is no longer in Indiana, but is providing counseling via phone/skype. Please call to inquiry.
